SIP Panel House
Architects: Alejandro Soffía + Gabriel Rudolphy
Site: Santo Domingo, Chile
Year: 2011
This house was built only with SIP (Structural Insulated Panels) and was rationalized in order to demand the least variety of dimensions and types of panels. Only two types of panels were used: walls panels (122cm x 244cm x 11.4cm) and split-level panels (122cm x 488 cm x 21cm).
71 wall panels and 40 split-level panels were used. The panels have an exterior wooden finishing.
The simplicity of the design and the reduced variety of materials allowed the house to be assembled in only 21 days.
